LIP, official watchmaker of the French National Firefighters Federation
The LIP watchmaking house is very proud to announce its new title of Official Watchmaker of the French National Fire Brigade Federation.
The LIP Courage watch developed by the bisontine house in 2020 in partnership with the the French National Fire Brigade Federation as a decision-making tool for all first-aid professions (firefighters, doctors, nurses and volunteer first-aiders) was so acclaimed that the 2 partis decided to move up a gear.
LIP became the Official Watchmaker of the French Fire Brigade and will design and create models destined to these women and men, who daily fight against time to save lives!
4 new models were presented at the national congress of the French National Fire Brigade Federation in Toulouse on 5 October 2023. Firstly, 2 new COURAGE models, including one for women with a 35 mm case opening, as well as 2 diving watches to meet the specific needs of the ‘swimmer-rescuers’ and ‘scuba divers’ special sections.
The LIP COURAGE* model, taking its name from the famous motto of France's firefighters ‘Courage and Devotion’, is available in 2 new versions. A first model for men with an even more robust all-steel bracelet fitted with a folding clasp, and a second variation, this time offered to women offranting a 35 mm case opening, mounted on a white tropic strap and marketed with a second tricolour nato strap.

Creating a decision-making tool that is easy to transport and always to hand, for all firefighters and first-aiders in the course of their missions, was the challenge proposed by the head of the Fire Brigade's Health and Medical Rescue Service and brilliantly met by the engineers from LIP. The LIP COURAGE watch operates by means of a heart rate scale printed on the right-hand side of the dial in red, and a breathing rate scale printed on the left-hand side of the dial in blue. An exclusive chronograph movement, with a dual Hand: a red section to measure heartbeat and a blue section to measure breathing, enables vital functions to be monitored very quickly.

2 new 200 m waterproof diving models for firefighters, rescue swimmers and divers

Becoming a rescue diver is one of the specialities in the fire service that requires you to pass technical, physical and theoretical tests. Successful completion of the tests is a prerequisite for becoming a Light Autonomous Diver.
They work in underwater or hyperbaric environments at depths of 20, 40 or 60 m, depending on their qualifications. Their complementary activities include water rescue and boat driving.
The missions are always characterised by urgency in the context of safeguarding people and property or protecting the environment.
Rescue swimmers work alongside fire and rescue center staff, coastal rescue specialists, scuba divers and helicopter rescuers, as well as other services involved in sea rescue as part of rescue operations.
With this in mind, LIP has designed a first robust ‘Nageur-Sauveteur’ diver’s model and a second ‘Scaphandrier’ model, both marked on the dial, water-resistant to 200 m, offranting enhanced legibility thanks to a very powerful Luminova covering the indexes and Hands. Their case backs and crowns are screwed and the backs also logotyped with the name of the speciality. The 3 mm sapphire crystal has an anti-reflet coating for legibility and strength in all circumstances.
