This Lip chronograph with its half-moon case is an emblematic model in the world of watchmaking. Its 3 push buttons in the shape of coloured balls give it a resolutely vintage look and a particularly soft feel. A French history
In 1974, LIP called on 7 designers from outside the watch industry to breathe new life into the brand's collections after the social events of 1973. It was in the collection presented in 1975 that the brand's revival really exploded, with the introduction of some incredibly innovative models... and an icon designed by Roger Tallon.
Roger TALLON designs the MACH 2000
Roger Tallon brings his knowledge of aeronautical materials (anti-corrosion metal, hyperbaric technologies) to bear on the watch, creating Lip's most avant-garde timepiece. Tallon's design retains everything that makes a watch a watch: analogue display, traditional calibre, crown adjustment, wearing on the wrist, strap with pin buckle, etc. It nevertheless breaks with the concept of the jewellery watch by breaking away from the straitjacket of classic watchmaking shapes: the asymmetrical cut of the case makes the articulation of the wrist/watch more obvious, and the push-pieces are enlarged and coloured to emphasise their functions.
