Designed for diving enthusiasts, this LIP Nautic-Fantôme watch combines elegance and performance. Its 316L stainless steel super-compressor case features a sandblasted finish and a matte black PVD coating, ensuring water resistance up to 20 bar. Equipped with a self-winding mechanical movement (21,600 vibrations/hour), it reveals its mechanism through a transparent screw-down case back, adding a touch of technical elegance. As for its matte black dial, the watchmaker drew inspiration from the 1967 Nautic Automatic, featuring painted numeral indices and a characteristic "arrow" minute hand. This is the first use of this dial in the large format of the Nautic, allowing the watchmaker from Besançon to combine a matte black non-reflective background with very visible white Super LumiNova indices and hands for perfect readability even in the depths. It is protected by a double-domed sapphire glass treated with anti-reflective coating. The perforated black tropic strap offers unparalleled comfort, whether underwater or in everyday use. Its two oversized crowns facilitate handling, even with gloves, and one of them allows you to activate the internal bezel for calculating dive time. Finally, the name "Fantôme" also reflects the desire to eliminate any shine.

DIVER’S WATCH, 1967
Lip's Nautic-Ski is no ordinary diver's watch. It left its mark on the history of French watchmaking with its famous internal rotating bezel, its so-called ‘compressor’ case and its thick, highly curved crystal.
Produced in the spring of 1967 to mark the brand's centenary and showcased at the 1968 Grenoble Olympic Games, it claimed to be the first French watch to be water-resistant to 200 m. Its water resistance was soon put to the test: the Nautic-Ski was adopted by Eric Tabarly and Captain Cousteau's team. Its special name comes from Fred Lip's desire to create a timepiece suited to the most extreme sports. ‘Nautic’ comes from its remarkable water-resistance and the word ‘Ski’ bears witness to the passion for gliding and speed of Fred Lip and his daughter, Muriel, who was a member of the French women's alpine ski team from 1950 to 1956.
LIP Besançon is once again manufacturing this model in its most authentic version: Nautic-Ski mechanical movement with automatic winding.
