Vintage style, elegant sobriety. This Lip Himalaya ladies' watch has an automatic movement and a polished 316L stainless steel case measuring 29 mm, a size that will fit perfectly on any woman's wrist. Its lightly silvered white dial has an open heart at 6 o'clock, so you can admire the automatic movement in operation, and is covered by an anti-reflective sapphire crystal. The movement can also be seen through the transparent screw-down caseback, which also ensures that the watch is water-resistant to 50 metres. The hour-markers and hands are rose gold-plated, and you'll notice that the second hand is tinted red at the tip. The strap is made from smooth camel calfskin with tone-on-tone stitching. In 1950, Maurice Herzog and Louis Lachenal reached the summit of Annapurna. For the first time in the history of mankind, men conquered a peak above 8,000 m. They were French, and it was with their LIP Himalaya watches that they looked at the time as they reached the top of the ‘first 8,000’. Five years later, in the spring of 1955, Lionel Terray and Jean Couzy set a new Himalayan record by making the first ascent of Makalu, the 5th highest peak in the world at an altitude of 8,485 m. Two world records for the same watch model!
