Transforming an advertising campaign into exceptional pieces: such is the essence of the LIP x Bilum collaboration.
This piece (Ref. 672038) tells a story of flight: the front features a fragment of the airplane illustration, with shades extending to the back in dominant light blue, evoking the vastness of the sky.
It all began at the end of 2025, when a large event advertising banner celebrating French watchmaking and the new LIP Mouvement Atelier R26 collection overlooked the legendary Parisian Brasserie LIPP, featuring the new LIP Type 14 model. In 2026, this iconic image embarked on a new life, metamorphosing into a meaningful, exclusive, and durable line of luggage.
In partnership with Bilum, a French pioneer in upcycling, LIP recovered this temporary advertising material to create an ultra‑limited series of 50 cabin‑size travel bags. Each bag is a unique collector’s piece. Hand‑cut in Île‑de‑France directly from the original banner, every section reveals its own story.
The material is carefully hand‑cleaned with eco‑friendly soapy water, then precisely cut using a press before being meticulously assembled in workshops across the region. The handles, crafted from repurposed seatbelt webbing, and the leather reinforcements, sourced from surplus leather from major luxury houses, complete this virtuous cycle where aesthetic refinement and responsible commitment come together. From recovering the canvas to the final quality check, each bag requires hours of work and the involvement of five different artisans.
More than just a travel bag, it is a durable fragment of LIP’s history, embodying authentic, artisanal French craftsmanship. As the message printed on the inside label of each creation reminds us:
